wonder at 03:14pm on 22/05/2009 under ap physics, blathering, devil summoner 2, irl, somethingawful forums, tl;drI'M HOME AND IT'S A THREE DAY WEEKEND AND I HAVE VIDEO GAMES AND MY GRADES ARE GOOD (or getting there) AND I'M GRADUATING IN THREE WEEKS TO GO TO AN AWESOME COLLEGE AND I HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT except for the stats project and the English project and the second physics project AND LIFE IS GREAT ♥
Ahaha oh wow I am back to the LJ method of "never check my f-list ever."
In my defense I have been ridiculously busy. The final chorus concert was this Wednesday and I've been working with my group on one (of two) of the final physics projects, which has been very stressful and hectic. Get this, we have to build a boat out of cardboard, paint it with a theme in mind, and race it across the pool Tuesday afternoon. We also have to calculate the water line, which was actually pretty easy. She only gave us a week and a half to do this, and considering we're on a block schedule with classes an hour and a half long, that means a lot of scrambling around and coming to school early in the morning and working on it at lunch and after school and such. But it's DONE HAHAHAHA and it looks vairy naice. Our theme is the Powerpuff Girls, but our boat looks more like Easter Sunday 8) It is so fucking girly, the bottom and inside of it is a solid BRIGHT FUCKING PINK and the rest is sky blue and light green with pink highlights and it's got hearts and stars and butterflies stuck on the side of it and shit. IT'S SO AWESOME, OUR BOAT IS THE COOLEST ONE. We just have to do the costumes now.
I've also been playing Devil Summoner 2! I'm about fifteen hours or so in. I would be playing it right now but I am sick of the White Rider showing up and I am so sick of being in the Tento Sanctuary, christ this dungeon is long and I have no patience. On the whole, though, I have to admit that I'm actually liking this game more than Persona 4 so far. See, I love Persona 4, but the problem with it is that an excessive amount of the regular enemies have these really cheap, gimmicky instant deaths attacks in a variety of styles, or at least attacks that do a goddamn shitton of damage, meaning that unless you've figured out how to get player advantage nearly all of the time (which I haven't) surviving in the later dungeons relies more on luck than skill. If it was just bosses that had them or only the rare random encounter, I wouldn't complain, but in Persona 4 they are way too common, like every other freaking monster is a miniboss, and it just causes me to get frustrated which causes me to rush through dungeons without grinding which causes me to be underleveled which causes me to be easily killed in subsequent dungeons, which causes me to be frustrated further and it's a vicious cycle etc. Which is why I never got past Heaven. Yeah. I'm pathetic. And Megidolaon hurts.
BUT! Devil Summoner 2 doesn't have any of that AND it's in real-time, and I love real-time fights in RPGs so much that I will buy and play any RPG with that kind of fighting system even if I don't know anything else about it, it makes me so happy. That and visible random encounters, but DS2 having real-time battles trumps it having invisible random encounters. I just wish they weren't so fucking frequent.
ANYWAY so yeah, Devil Summoner 2, really fun, would be playing now but annoyed with it, but that tends to lead to Abandoned Game Syndrome so I'll probably force myself to play later. Hopefully I'm almost done with this silly dungeon and can soon move on. IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET MORE BUG CAGE THINGS? MAYBE IF I HAD MORE LOCUSTS THE WHITE RIDER WOULD LEAVE ME ALONE.
I read somewhere that there's a Red Rider too. Are there Black and Pale ones as well? If so I will gush ♥
SAF IS FINALLY UNLOCKED AGAIN FFFFFFUCK YYYYYYYYEAH I was getting desperate as reading Let's Plays makes up about 50% of my Intertainment nowadays...I really ought to just get an account.
