So I have this habit of, late at night, getting really excited about new cosplay projects and making plans for them and then never following through because I do not have the money to pull them off. I did the same thing last night (for Gumi from the Matryoshka PV) except for two key differences. One: I actually am getting some sort of income now, so I will be significantly (if not majorly) less broke, and two: I can probably get all the base supplies I need for this one for around $75.
This is a link post for my own convenience because my bookmarks are super disorganized and I don't feel like trudging through them all.
Jacket: in true red. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to modify it (I'd like to do a good job on it) but I don't need to worry about that just yet.
Gloves: sadly sold out, these don't have cuffs but are a good cheap backup. I'm going to check thrift stores first though since they tend to have a good glove collection.
Wig: no styling required, even!!
So I still need to find decently priced colored contact lenses (I'm unsure whether to get red or green since I'm not shelling out for special effect lenses, those are always like $75+ by themselves), fake lip rings(?), and some sort of way to make a black megaphone. I went through pixiv to see if I could find any sort of consistent bottoms and there were none, though black miniskirts and red sweatpants seemed to be the most popular. So I will probably just go with my original loose black jeans/jungle boots combo, because I already own both of those and it's less money.
I just think this one's cute.
I'm in no rush yet since I'll probably do this one at AX which is quite a ways off, but the most pressing dilemma right now is: I have no Miku. I mean I will deal if I don't have one but I feel like if I'm going to cosplay from Matryoshka there ought to be a set. So is anybody going to AX who would be willing? Or do you know anybody who would be? It's really not all that difficult to do and it would be so cool ;___;
IN COMPLETELY UNRELATED NEWS I am sick of all my icons and need to go hunting for new ones. Maybe it's actually worth it to have a larger pool.
